Skilled HGV Technicians
(all depots & vehicle maintenance units)

DEPARTMENT: Service Workshop

RESPONSIBLE TO: Workshop Foreman

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: Regular maintenance of customers' vehicles & trailers in order to maintain good road safety operational reliability & avoid unplanned stoppages. The position would include excellent manufacturer product training.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out routine maintenance & repairs on all makes of vehicle including trailers to the Ministry of Transport standard. 
  • To be able to diagnose & rectify all types of faults. 
  • To comply with laws & local regulations intended to prevent injury & accidents within the workshop. 
  • To ensure that protective clothing & safety boots are worn at all times. 
  • Housekeeping, including the care of special tools to be maintained to the Keltruck standard. 
  • To leave customers' vehicles in a clean & tidy condition on completion of maintenance. 
  • To be available to attend road-side breakdowns as & when required. 
  • To be courteous to customers at all times. 
  • To report all incidents (broken tools etc.) to the workshop foreman. 
  • To ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality.                                                                  

WORKING CONDITIONS: Modern, heated, well-lit workshop.

HOURS: 39 per week

HOLIDAYS: 22 days plus 8 statutory

SALARY & OVERTIME: Negotiable depending on experience
