Scania EGR: Exhaust Gas Recirculation

Scania EGR: cost effective and convenient

Scania EGR: just add diesel!

It’s the easy, convenient way to achieve consistent economy and compliance when you step up to Euro 4.

Can you tell the difference between Euro 3 and Euro 4? With Scania EGR, you could argue that there’s no difference at all.

For a start, you won’t be needing urea or other similar additives. Very convenient – and just what you’re already used to.

But that’s not all! You get the same familiar benefits our customers already know about. At the very least, the same operating economy. Same performance. Same driveability. Same reliability.

Outstanding operating economy
Scania Euro 3 engines are capable of outstanding economy. Our Euro 4 engines hit the same high peaks. How do we know? Because the technology has already been proven by our customers. They have told us what they think.

No additives, no extra costs
Scania EGR is so simple. It requires no urea or similar additives because there is no need for after-treatment of exhaust gases. That means more convenience as well as less cost.

Reduced weight, more space
No need for additives, so no need for extra tanks on the chassis. Save weight, gain payload. Save space on the chassis, and that could mean more space for auxiliary equipment or additional fuel capacity.

100% compliance
No matter where you go, Scania EGR keeps on working. From stop-and-go urban driving to heavy-duty long-haulage on the open road, the engine remains clean.

Proven technology
Field trials have done more than demonstrate outstanding economy. Performance, driveability and reliability are all well up to Scania standards.

No additional maintenance
Oil change intervals are the same for Scania’s Euro 4 and Euro 3 engines. You don’t lose uptime or incur higher costs.

Potential for further enhancement
Scania EGR will also take Scania operators into Euro 5. Based on a revised platform and a new fuel injection system, this engine range will be launched well ahead of legislation.
